Q: WILL A HAIL DAMAGE CLAIM MAKE MY INSURANCE RATES INCREASE?
No. Insurance companies classify claims into two different general categories: (1) Collision, and (2) Comprehensive. Hail claims are much different from collision claims. Insurance companies view hail storms as an act of nature, and do not penalize you for filing an insurance claim. You’re covered for hail damage if you’ve purchased comprehensive insurance coverage, sometimes known as “other than collision”.
Q: DO I HAVE TO PAY MY DEDUCTIBLE?
In most cases you will have ZERO out of pocket expenses when you choose Colorado PDR.
Q. DO I HAVE TO GO WHERE MY INSURANCE COMPANY TELLS ME TO GO?
By law, the choice is yours. If you do choose the body shop your insurance company recommends, you will more than likely pay your deductible. Most body shops are under contract with insurance companies and must charge you. Again, it is up to you where you decide to have your car repaired.
Q: WHAT IF I DO NOT GET MY VEHICLE REPAIRED?
A restriction for “unrepaired damage” is in effect on your insurance policy once a hail claim is issued; any future claims may be denied until your hail damage is repaired. If you choose to not repair your vehicle and you are unfortunate to get your vehicle involved in an accident and/or another hail storm, your insurance company will deduct the amount of the initial settlement from the new claim. You will be responsible to pay the difference for the new repairs. Our recommendation….Don’t risk it!
Q. HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO GET MY VEHICLE REPAIRED?
Insurance checks are normally good for 180 days. However, your estimate is based on current labor and part rates. Waiting can also increase your risk for “unrepaired damage” complications.
